Fire Prevention |
Provides protection against loss of life and property by fire through code enforcement; public education; systematic fire inspections of campus residential & academic buildings, assemblies, and businesses. |
Emergency Medical Services |
Staffed exclusively by student volunteers, the emergency medical services branch of the College of Charleston Fire and EMS responds to medical emergencies in and around the College of Charleston Campus. All services of the College of Charleston EMS are provided at no cost to our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Fire and EMS is certified as an Ambulance Service by SC DHEC and is authorized to provide care up to the intermediate level. Advanced life support services are provided by Charleston County EMS. |

Affiliated with fire and emergency medical services since 1985, Captain Agee performs inspections and insures compliance with codes and regulations relating to Fire Safety / Prevention and hazardous materials. He also serves as the department Public Information and Privacy Officer and has been with the College of Charleston Fire and EMS since 2006. |

Serving with fire and emergency services since 1985. Captain McDonough is a South Carolina State Certified Fire Marshal, Fire Safety Officer III, ICC Certified Fire Inspector I, and a NREMT-B. Captain McDonough holds numerous industry certifications and has attended several accredited continuing education certificate programs, to include the National Fire Academy. His responsibilities on the campus include, but are not limited to inspections, prevention, training, compliance & regulations, while managing the Colleges Nationally recognized First Responder program. He has awarded “Employee of the Year”, “Advisor of the year”, as well as, nominated for several other campus commendations. Captain McDonough has been serving at the College of Charleston since 2008, after retiring from the Fire Department of New York City. |

Serving with fire and emergency medical services since 2009, Inspector Craig performs inspections and insures compliance with codes and regulations relating to Fire Safety / Prevention and hazardous materials. Inspector Craig has been active with the College of Charleston Fire and EMS since 2016. |

The In-Service Training Officer is responsible for assuring compliance with SC DHEC IST program requirements and submission of all IST and re-certification paperwork to DHEC. |
