CPR & First Aid Training

The College of Charleston Fire and EMS provides CPR, AED, and first aid training at a discounted rate to College of Charleston students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Courses are scheduled at regular intervals throughout both the fall and spring semesters.

Heartsaver AED (CPR)	$30.00 ($21.00 for CofC)*
This course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Adult/Child CPR with mask and choking training Adult/Chid AED Optional: Infant CPR with mask and choking training Length: 3 hours Card: Yes, Heartsaver AED Completion Card Tests: Skills Test College of Charleston: This class is appropriate for most students seeking CPR certification with a completion card. If you are taking a course at the College of Charleston that requires CPR this will satisfy the requirements for most classes.
Heartsaver First Aid	$25.00 ($17.50 for CofC)*
This course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. We recommend this course to those who need first aid certification and who already hold a current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or other certifying agency. Adult First Aid Length: 3 hours Card: Yes, Heartsaver First Aid Completion Card Tests: Skills Test College of Charleston: This class is appropriate for most students seeking First Aid certification with a completion card. If you are taking a course at the College of Charleston that requires first aid certification only, or if you already hold a current CPR card, this course will satisfy the requirements for most classes.
Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED	$50.00 ($35.00 for CofC)*
This course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. Adult/Child CPR with mask and choking training Adult/Chid AED Adult First Aid Optional: Infant CPR with mask and choking training Length: 6 hours Card: Yes, Heartsaver First Aid with CPR Completion Card Tests: Skills Test College of Charleston: This class is appropriate for most students seeking First Aid and CPR certification with a completion card. If you are taking a course at the College of Charleston that requires First Aid and CPR this will satisfy the requirements for most classes.
BLS for Healthcare Providers	$45.00 ($31.50 for CofC)*
This course is designed for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. Adult and Pediatric CPR Including: Two-rescuer scenarios Use of the bag-valve-mask Foreign-body airway obstruction Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Length: 4.5 hours Card: Yes, BLS for HCP Completion Card Tests: Written Exam, Skills Test College of Charleston: We recommend this course to those who are currently working, or will soon be working, in a formal healthcare setting such as those listed above. In addition, this course is recommended for many lifeguard re-certification programs. Please check with your certifying agency to see which course is best suited to your needs.
